At its core, Backstage Access Presents: Heartland exists to honor the stories, culture, and people who form the backbone of rural America. By bringing together artists with deep ties to these communities and highlighting the generational farms of the Heartland, we aim to spotlight mental wellness in agriculture. Farmers and ranchers face unique pressures that make prioritizing mental well-being essential. By supporting mental health initiatives within the agricultural community, we can create a culture where seeking help is not only acceptable but also actively encouraged.

We are proud to partner with the Iowa State University Foundation, a respected nonprofit dedicated to uplifting rural communities across the state. In 1985, the ISU Foundation created the suicide prevention hotline ‘Iowa Concern,’  a crucial resource that has supported countless farmers and ranchers over the decades. Through this partnership, and with the support and revenue generated by Heartland, we are honored to contribute to this life-saving work and ensure these vital mental health services continue to reach those who need them most.
